Bulldogs Friends+Family magazine is intended to provide students, friends, and family information and resources related to move in and living on campus. The Community Guide is a very important document—you actually agreed to abide by the policies found in the Community Guide when you executed your online housing contract. In it, you’ll find guidance on decoration and visitation, as well as information about the staff and amenities available to you as a resident.
Incoming First-Year Students
Students may register for housing only for the summer sessions in which they are enrolled in class. For example, to stay the whole summer you need to be enrolled in at least one May and one thru session class or one May, one short session I and one short session II class. Roommate option contracts are also available for independent graduate students wishing to share a two-bedroom apartment with another student of the same gender. For your specific contract, contact University Housing or log into The Dawg House. Download a general copy of the housing contract below for review prior to registration. Orientation leaders and other staff members live in the building.
Prospective Students
Registration alone does not commit you to living on campus, nor does it guarantee you a space. However, you must pay your UGA commitment deposit by the deadline in order to receive an appointment time to choose a space. These apartments are organized for the needs of graduate students and students with families, and are served by both UGA and Athens city bus routes.

Orientation Housing
These actions may occur simultaneously, separately and/or independently. Undergoing renovations for summer 2024, Boggs Hall will have enhanced and updated lobby, lounge, laundry, community bathroom and kitchen spaces. Residents enjoy its in-room sinks, room size and proximity to Bolton Dining Commons and the Tate Student Center. Boggs Hall is one of six halls that accommodates supplemental housing.

University Housing recommends that students obtain some type of renter’s insurance whether that be a special policy or as a part of the parents’ homeowner policy. Generally, renter’s insurance can protect you from loss due to fire, storms, smoke, vandalism, burglary, etc. University Housing is not liable for any damage to personal property.
If you have preferred roommates, make sure to create or join a roommate group before your room selection appointment. You will sign/execute your contract after you choose your space or receive your assignment. To protect the privacy and security of our residents, we do not offer in-person tours of the residence halls during the academic year. If you are interested in a group tour as part of a school or other organization, please contact Assistant Director for Communications Carrie Campbell at First-year students are required to live on campus and should start by using the drop-down menu above to learn about the first year live-on requirement and to register for housing.
